Which card should you use in the Sony α6700?
Start with the file format in the video menu. Each recording setting below is paired with a full-size SD card whose rating meets Sony’s published requirement for normal recording with proxies off.
| Recording setting | Card pick based on specifications |
|---|---|
| XAVC S 4K · 280 Mb/s | SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II 128 GB · V60 |
| XAVC S-I 4K · 600 Mb/s | SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 128 GB · V90 |
At 280 Mb/s, budget around 54 minutes on a 128 GB card with 10% space reserved. Use this to plan a shoot. Actual bitrate varies by setting and scene.
If you switch between settings in the table, pack the highest class shown. For slow motion, proxies or a different frame rate, check the matching row in the manual before shooting.

SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC V60
Check the slot first: this Extreme PRO is full-size SD, unlike the similarly named microSD above. In a UHS-II camera mode that calls for V60, it provides a 60 MB/s minimum sequential write rating. I would start here when none of the modes I use needs more.

Which cards fit?
Higher read speed can shorten copies with a suitable reader. It does not change camera bitrate or recording time at equal capacity.
